At first the research paper will try to make a clear understanding of crime through different theories which have been propounded by different theorists. At first Symbolic Interactionism will be explained and also its relation with the individual who commits crime will be made clear. After that concept of deviance will be discussed. With the concept of deviance the types of deviance will also be explained which are present in our society. After that various theories which are related to Deviance will also be discussed briefly like Social Control theory and Labeling theory etc. there criticisms will also be discussed separately. After the theoretical description of crime role of media will also explained in context to crime. Through this efforts will be made to make it understandable how media plays a vital role in establishing any activity as a crime or also make crime more known or common in the society. Further role of politics will also be discussed in this project. Further the role of Legal systems of different countries will also be discussed in brief in order to explain how a same activity can be termed as criminal which is not in different …show more content…
The chapters which are of main concern for the research paper are chapter five and chapter six. Chapter five of this book deals with the importance of Chicago as an empirical study ground for crime as it was booming with population with a great number of migrants coming. Chicago school was also important for giving different theories related to crime. This chapter also deals with Anomie and the Stress and Strains of crime in a theoretical approach. It also deals with criticism related to these theories and also the perspective of Gangs, Youth and also deviance as a subculture. Then this chapter also gives an important reading about the theories which have been applied to the practical life. The chapter also deals with the different Control theories like Neutralization theory, Social Control theory, it also deals with different problems related to these theories. The next chapter that is Chapter six deals with Deviance and Labelling as theories and also different perspectives given by different theorists. This chapter also deals with different criticisms related to these theories and also the development that has taken so far in these theories. This chapter will also be dealing with the conflict perspective of crime given by different
