What’s family? Family is a socially recognized group that forms an emotional connection and serves as economic unit in society. There are many types of family, whether kin by blood, marriage, cohabitation or adoption. Sociology identifies family types based on family orientation or family procreation. Also, in families there are several type of marriages such as single parenting where a male or female is the only individual taking care of the child(ren). Although , In the United States 66% of children under 17 today live with married parents. Theoretical view on family are family could be different to everyone, family isn’t the same for each individual. The social construct of family is destined to change.
