Throughout the story the sound of thunder is thought to have different kinds of meanings. Bradbury utilizes the title to describe the different and most important scenarios that occur over the length of the story. The title of the story is exceptionally effective in depicting the major events that had occurred throughout the story. The first sound of thunder was the footsteps of a dinosaur which was the beast Eckles and the hunters were looking for to kill. This is reviled as Bradbury states “Out of the mist came a Tyrannosaurus Rex” (280). The second sound of thunder was interpreted to be the sound of a gunshot. The time machine also could have been seen as a sound of thunder due to the sudden action and roar. The sound of thunder shows relation on how something such as stepping on a butterfly or grass could affect the future in a thunderous way.
For every action there 's a reaction and every reaction bares a consequence. Bradbury’s story, "A Sound of Thunder" expresses how disrupting something as little as flower in the past can drastically change the future. Bradbury uses foreshadowing in the story to warn us of major events that will occur relating to the theme. The message he gives off is not to mess with time because it could change what occurs in the present and also impact future
