Children are pure and endowed with a quality that adults lose throughout their lifetime, innocence. Yet, we would not know if that innocence was ever there. When a group of children attempt to build their own form of government, the tables turn when ambitious boys begin become power hungry, and would do just about anything to achieve it. This book presents itself with a strive for survival with children of various ages attempting to live while preserving their sense of reality. In the Lord of the flies William Golding uses the character Jack to represent temptation, the loss of reality, and humanity. The boys came from a civilized country many kept their morals straight but others such as Jack became consumed by hunting. Anyone near Jack who still had their sanity intact came to the a similar conclusion, “Tried to convey the compulsion to track down and kill that was swallowing him up." ( Golding, 37) At times after going on expeditions he begins to be consumed by the idea of any type of kill. Beginning with the idea of eliminating the littleluns as a choice for entertainment, was his. Ordinarily, kills we're great for these groups of young hunters, but the kill was not always achieved . The excitement was at times satisfying enough, but not in all cases. When the boys lose the boar they begin to dance and chant. “ Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!”( Golding, 104) This message coming from animal hunters sounds reasonable. Yet, it is not the case. These 13-year-old boys were talking about slaughtering another human being. Jack as usual turns it into more than it was supposed to be he propose the idea of using actual human children to hunt as it would be satisfying for them to plead for their lives. The most frightening part was the boys agreeing and slowly showing the adaptation of a life of violence and loss of humanity. The temptation to the gullible children was the easiest way to obtain his role. The number one propaganda Jack used to be the element of meat to survive. This was an island like any that contain tropical fruit that I times consuming and big loads created an upset stomach and Jack made sure to let everyone know. There is no officials, no parents, or anybody to look to for protection. Jack himself intimidated the children and ridiculed the little lunns. At the same time they came to the conclusion that he was the only strong enough boy with his followers to protect them even if that meant they had to put up with some unsettling behavior. Everyone does almost about anything to climb to the top. What jack did was installed fear and use it to tempt the children to leave his fellow competitors side Ralph and join him instead
