When he’s talking to Othello, he talks about Desdemona being a whore and how she really loves Cassio. But when he’s talking to Desdemona, he’s talking as if he doesn’t know what’s going on in Othello’s head and why he’s acting this way. Iago talks to Othello about how she gave Cassio the handkerchief and says “It was yours, I swear. And do you see how much your foolish wife means to him? She gave it to him, and he gave it to his whore”. Then goes and tries to comfort Desdemona by saying “Please calm down. He’s just in a bad mood. This all occurred because Iago didn’t get the Lieutenant position that he felt he deserved. Iago ruined four lives in the process of his evil scheme. He ruined Othello’s life because of all the accusations he was giving him about Desdemona and Cassio. He ruined Desdemona’s life because she died thinking that she did something so terribly wrong that her own husband killed her. Iago ruined Cassio’s life because he got the promotion instead of him, so he basically took it away from him. Roderigo lost all his money due to Iago and Iago stabs Emilia. Othello, Emilia, and Desdemona die and Cassio inherits Othello’s property. Before Othello dies, he stabs Iago but he does not die.
