Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are three of the most influential world religions in history. While Christianity holds about 2 billion people, and Islam about 1 billion; Judaism has about 14 million. But these three religions are some of the most influential in the world. They are sometimes referred to as the “Abrahamic religions” because all their histories can be traced back to Abraham, and he is sometimes considered the father of these religions. While they may come from similar origins and be monotheistic religions, they also have some vastly different beliefs.

Christians believe in the Holy Trinity; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They believe that Jesus is the son of God who came to spread the word of the Lord and die for our sins. To them, Hell is “a place of everlasting punishment for the unrighteous” (Matthew 25:46), and salvation can only be obtained by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The Jewish, however, believe that Jesus Christ was a false prophet who was crucified because of his claim to be divine. They do not have strict views of the afterlife, except when it comes to hell, there is everlasting punishment for sins that merit it. The Islam faith accepts Jesus as a prophet of Allah, though they do not believe he is divine. They also do not believe he was crucified, but rather was raised to Heaven by Allah. Hell to the Islamic faith is a place of fire and torment that has many levels, and salvation may be achieved through good works and when personal righteousness outweighs your sin.
One of the most interesting differences in these faiths is their beliefs regarding sin and how it comes upon people.
