Also, the motion of the earth in space ultimately affects the month, day and year. Calendars are one of the most ancient resources that have been beneficial to humans for thousands of years. Archeologists say a row of ancient pits, which was found at an archeological site in northern Scotland, might be the oldest calendar. It is 5,000 years older than its close rival, meaning the oldest calendar is about 10,000 years old. The Maya, Aztec, Chinese, Babylonian, Persian and Vedic calendars will be the main focus. These civilizations broke boundaries and were very vital to the advancement of our westernized modern day calendar.
