I was cold. I mean, everything around me was cold. My blanket didn 't seem to do much at the time so there wasn 't really any need for it. The book I held in my hands didn 't satisfy me, but the rain outside did. I watched as the raindrops slid down the window leaving streaks of water behind. The conversations from the children filled my ears. Every day was the same. I didn 't want to be a part of their conversations, and even if I did they would call me a witch or a freak. So I never bothered to even talk to them.

And I was okay with that. Soon everyone would be adopted, but me. I never knew my parents, and had no living relatives. I would be alone no one to care for me. I got up from my spot in the corner and moved out the room without being noticed. The

Although I forgot that the Toyman was still in the room. "You think you can escape me, little girl! I 'm the Toyman," I turned around to see him pointing flamethrowers at me. I covered myself with my arm waiting to be scorched. Though before that could happen the burned walls were beaten down. Sending pieces of debris at us.

"Toyman leave the children be!" said the unfamiliar voice. I moved my arm to see who spoke. I was stunned. The person who stood before us was the man of steel. "Superman! Just in time to see these unruly children meet their annihilation!" The Toyman laughed a revolting laugh. He was going to kill us. I wasn 't ready to die, not yet. "So good-bye you brats! Hahahaha!" Fire from the flamethrowers shot out towards us.

Closing my eyes I then wait for the horrible agony to come. "No!" hollered Superman. I just want it over with at least I 'll be at peace. I flinched as the heat came in contact with my skin. Yet I didn 't feel the burning sensation near my skin. I opened my eyes slowly to see the fire surrounding us, but not hurting us. The flames then turned a sapphire blue then it all fades away. Like it was never
