Improved Essays
Climate change is affecting us everyday, whether we believe in it or not. As days go on with humans ignoring the warning signs, the temperature increases, air quality decreases, species die out and ice caps melting, the earth will continue to degrade and be destroyed to the point of no return, because our ignorant ways. Climate change is happening as all the evidence proves this, three major pieces of evidence are; the sea levels rising, global temperatures are rising and oceans warming.
Sea level rise is caused by two factors: the water melting from the ice caps, flowing into the ocean and as sea water expands when warm. We can see this effect around coastal towns, were they have had to implement sea walls and efforts to stop sea water eroding

Since the late 1800s, the average global temperature has risen by more than 1.5°F, and there are places that have seen increases of twice this amount. This warming is responsible for numerous changes beyond the thermometer. First, not only is the air temperature rising, but ocean temperatures are as well, and this is exacerbating the melting of glaciers and sea ice. This is shifting sea levels, something also affected by changes in precipitation patterns. The strength and timing of extreme weather events are also being altered.…

As a result of climate change, the water levels and temperature will rise due to the melting of glaciers. These seemly trivial problems have been passed off as ordinary by many stating that this has naturally been occurring for a very long period of time, but yet again they’re wrong. By 2100 it is predicted that the sea levels will have risen 1-4 feel (Shaftel). This could possibly eliminate major parts of the coastline, and since around 39% of the American population lives near a coastline this could cause a major upset (What). Another effect climate change would have on the ocean would be its acidity.…

According to NASA, “human activities over the past 50 years have warmed our planet”. (NASA) Humans are a major cause in producing climate change by cutting down forests, burning of fossil fuels and driving.…

The subject of climate change has been hotly debated over the past decade. It is now obvious that the climate is changing and that it is more than likely going to cause problems in the future. The amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere has considerably increased since the Industrial Revolution. As fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and crude oil are burned, carbon dioxide is discharged into the atmosphere where it is trapped. This is called the greenhouse effect and although essential to the survival of all life on Earth, this process has gotten out of hand recently.…
