Sociology is a study of trying to understand how our daily lives are affected by our personality and world events. Sociologist studies the world through a method called, paradigm. Which is a theoretical framework, (Carl, 2011). Functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionist are the three major paradigms that are used in this field. Though there are main more, such as a feminist point of view, but the other three are used more often. These theories are viewed in either in a macro or micro point of view. Meaning that marco studies the larger group, unlike micro which studies individuals.

Such as how the wealthy have a better experience in life compared to the poor. Similar to functionalism, the conflict theory is based off of the macro perspective as well. Conflict the theorists mostly study how people tend to have inequalities in society. For example, woman have a tendency to be seen as inferior when compared to men. Karl Marx, a conflict theorist, felt that the power and wealth of the society is in the hands of the people. His theory alone inspired other sociologist, such as Harriet Martian and Jane Addams. An example of this theory would be the fast food restaurant, McDonald’s. McDonald’s is made up of the different stages: management, workers, and costumers. The management would be considered the government, workers are the business sectores, and the customer is the local community. If each part runs and works efficiently, then everyone is happy and there is no trouble, but only party were to get out of line, then the relationship of the other two are affected. Such as if the manager is having a bad day and takes it out on the the worker. The worker is then put into a bad mood, and will most likely give off attitude towards the customers, creating a mad experience. In the end, no one is happy with the service or working
