Path-goal theory is how leaders motivate followers to accomplish a goal. This theory is based on enhance follower’s performance and satisfaction by focusing on motivation. Motivation is the key to help followers believe their can accomplish the mutual goal. The most challenging part of this theory is that the leader must meet the follower’s styles to meet their motivational needs. The main four types of leaders of this theory are: directive, supportive, participative, and achieving-oriented. A directive leader is one that tell followers instructions about the task to follow to meet the goal. Including what it is expected of them. A directive leadership set the standards rules and regulation. In Education, is important that the teacher have an organize path to show students academic and social content that is expected from students to meet. If the steps are clear and regulated, the learning process is more effective. A supportive leader consists of motivate followers and it is important to be friendly and approachable. It is a must to attend to well-being and human needs of his followers. As a teacher, I believe that knowing my students and their needs will help me keep them motivate to learn new concepts. Participative Leadership involves the leader and the followers to make decisions that will help the team meet the common goal. Teaching is not a one person’s job. It is a team of colleges that often work in groups to develop lesson plans. I believe that reaching for help, or help other teachers can improve the efficacy of the learning process and help student reach their academic and social goals for the year. According to the survey my strengths of this leadership are: I maintain a friendly working relationship with followers, I listen to followers about what needs to be done and how it needs to be done. I ask followers to follow standards, I encourage continual improvement in follower’s performance and I
