The Teachings of Islam Religion is one’s beliefs of a god or gods that have higher power and created the universe. There are various types of religions on the world ranging from Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc. Islam is the second largest practiced religion in the world and is steady growing. Islam is a religion that The Thousand and One Nights focuses on and how it’s incorporated through the different tales. Islam means to surrender to Allah, to uphold peace. The view of Islam has evolved tremendously since the start of the religion to today’s generation. In the Thousand and One Nights it displays the original culture, heritage, and teachings of Islam throughout the many tales inside the story. Islam is a religion of the belief of the one and only God, Allah while Muhammad is the prophet. Women must have all cleavage, shoulders, midriff and back area covered. No tight shirts or bottoms and their bottoms must stop at knee length, and all undergarments must be hidden. It is also stated in the Qur’an that Allah tells the men that their daughters and wives must be covered from head to toe every time they exit their house. They are to be as free respectable women so as not to be annoyed or draw unwanted attention to themselves. Women that speak out about the fact that they have been raped can be found guilty because a confession of rape can be considered adultery under the Islamic law. If a woman does not have at least four or more men that can that can say that she had been raped, then the woman will be stoned to death or be shunned in the Islamic religion. This happens because the men feel that if a woman gets raped in their culture it is her fault because she probably was staring at another man for too long or her clothing wasn’t loose
