The Teacher That Always Believed In Me
When I was in the seventh grade, I was placed in a class for students that had difficulty reading and writing - it was called Reading 180. When I started out, the teacher was Mrs.Musick, which is now my senior english teacher. She said that I didn't need to be in the Reading 180 class, but that I needed to be in the regular seventh grade english class. A week later, I found out my schedule had been turned upside down. I was now in the regular english class with a teacher by the name of Kara Harrison. At first I did not like her. I thought she was mean and didn't care about her students, but that was not the case. Any time I needed someone to proofread a paper, help me with math, or just sit down and talk about my problems, she was there. She has never told me I am not capable when others have. She has encouraged me in everything I have set my mind to do, whether it is big or small.When I entered high school, she essentially followed my class in the transition over. She became my IEP teacher when I got here, and again she helped me with whatever I needed. She did everything in her power to make sure I passed all five parts of the OGT, which was something I was afraid I couldn't …show more content…
Whether it be big or small, everything you do plays a vital role in your journey. When I first met Mrs. Harrison, I didn't realize that God could place people in your life to help guide you along and show you the right path to take. I guess that's why he made teachers: to help people prosper in ways that no one else can. In the time I have known Mrs. Harrison, I have learned that I can be anything I want to be. I have been through a number of different things that I have thought I wanted to do with my life, and I have finally found the career choice that I believe fits my personality the best. I truly believe that I can take everything that Mrs.Harrison has taught me and transform it and use it as I become a nurse. I want to take that knowledge she gifted me and show the world that I, Jacob Bentley has what it takes to succeed and will never give
