Pocahontas is the story of white men interacting with the native Americans and a Native woman saving the life of a white man named John Smith. At least that's as much as the stories agree on. The tale of Pocahontas is told many ways in many different forms. Of the four we read or watched in class, the single best describing one I would choose is The New World.
The New World is the source I would choose because I feel it (out of the four sources we viewed) best showed the authentic story with enough small changes to keep the audience interested in the story but not damage the actual story.
Compared to the disney film this film was the best of the best as Disney once again shows us how much they can screw a story for all its worth.
