Jessica Risner Heather Ward English 1101-41 October 5, 2015 “Love You Forever” Literary Analysis One of my favorite stories to read to my daughter is “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch. The story is about a mother who sneaks into her son’s room, once he is sleeping, and sings a song to him. She sings to him these words “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be (pg. 14).” My favorite part about this story is that once her son is a teenager, and even a grown adult, she still sneaks into his room and sings her song to him.…

Mountains are an important symbol throughout The Woman Warrior; therefore, I chose a Chinese painting called Summer Mountains. Mountains can symbolize obstacles, progression, loneliness, and isolation. In Summer Mountains, there are various mountains of different sizes; similarly, to how mountains take on different meanings throughout The Woman Warrior. For example, mountains first appear in the novel when Kingston’s mother mentions the Gold Mountains. The Gold Mountains refers specifically to California where the Chinese men sailed in search for riches and wealth.…

In the small town of Lakeview, Haven’s father is getting remarried, her sister is walking down the aisle with boring Lewis Warsher and things couldn’t get worse. Matt was created in this section as a clone of El Patron. At the point where Eduardo, Matt’s “creator” in a way, is about to inject the infant, it reminded me of The Giver and its controlled society. It seems as though, usually, they impair the intelligence of the clones, stifling it, and preventing the clones to be as intellectual as “real” people. However, in Matt’s case, this didn’t happen. Apparently, clones of El Patron are left as they are.…
