On this Earth there are many people who work very hard to survive. Many people are not as fortunate as others, and were not born into good circumstances. People struggle with poverty and crime on a daily bases. Even though America is better off than some countries, there are certain cities that still struggle such as Cleveland, OH and Detroit, MI. Detroit has one of the highest poverty rates in the United States. Not having enough money to support themselves and their families increase the stress of day to day life. Detroit also has the highest murder rate and one of the top in robberies. Struggling with poverty and crime lowers the standard of life for many Americans. This paper will take a look at how everyone is affected by these situations. …show more content…
Crime is the act of going against the state or federal laws that could lead to punishment. Crime is a great problem in the United States. According to Worldatlas.com Detroit, MI is one of the worst and most dangerous cities to reside in. City-data.com tells us that in Detroit there was 298 per 100,000 people murdered in 2014, 557 per 100,000 people raped in 2014, and 3,570 per 100,000 people robbed in 2014 which much higher when compared to other cities in the U.S. These high numbers display the reason why Detroit is considered a menacing city. In America there was about 15,696 murders in 2015 and about 90,185 rapes in 2015. Crime is not always intentional, but done as a way to gain money so that they will be able to have money for bills and taxes. Crime and poverty come hand to hand in this world.
The struggles that we face today are because of location, crime, and poverty. Poverty has an affect on these subjects. Poverty impacts the world it causes changes in people's minds and hearts. It causes people to commit violent acts and changes their personality. The people in the U.S. must make changes before it's too late and they destroy
