Being a disciple of Jesus had great honor and pride. Jesus loved his disciples as if they were his own blood. When the disciples surrounded Jesus he said, “Whoever does the will of my God is my brother, and sister, and mother” (Mark 3:31-35). Jesus shows how he cares for everyone who preaches the words of God and not just men. Many people say that women are worthy enough and to be written in the bible but as seen in this quote it shows how Jesus treats the women as he treats everyone. Furthermore, when Jesus died on the cross all the male disciples left and the women remained true and by his side (Mark 14:50). “The weak women were stronger than the men: the faith of Peter the rock ran away like sand; the faith of Mary, however, was truly a rock” (Moltmann-Wendel 108). This shows that the women around Jesus’ time weren’t as fragile as people claimed them to be. Women were the fearful ones who stayed at home to clean and cook where men were the ones who were fearless. But this shows that Women could stay and witness such crucial events of Jesus’ life where as many male disciples abandoned Jesus. This shows how truly strong and caring women are. They had the strength to stay by Christ’s side while he
