The Sociological Perspective Of Camping In Sandy's Life

She also stays in close contact with her siblings they go camping every summer together. I am a avid camper myself and I can say that camping isn’t the easiest vacation to go on. It takes a lot of time and motivation to pack your house up and the belongings you will need, than you travel how far you chose, setup camp, and start having fun, however, your day to day life with camping isn’t as easy as most may think. It takes a lot to keep you organized and put together. If you don’t have a camper you can’t just open the fridge and take something you have to dig through your cooler to find what you need, it’s harder to clean up things because usually you are doing dishes outside in a bucket not standing in front of a sink and then you have to pack everything up go home unpack and put everything away. So a lot goes into camping so to continue to camp later in life is a great way to stay active and continue doing activities you did throughout your life. The constant I found in Sandy’s life was being a caregiver and putting family first. She grew up in a close family unit where her parents made sure they spent together and let them be kids. I have never conducted this type of interview before. So that was a challenge in its self for me, I can say I learned a lot about my interviewee which was very interesting to learn about someone’s life in such a detailed and methodological way. I felt this gave me the structure and opportunity to give the tools to understand why people behave and act in certain ways. As a social work major I also feel that this will give me the tools to have a better understanding of my clients and to not make any pre-judgement assumptions of why people behave in certain ways before I obtain a better understand of where they came from and how they were
