The Skeleton is one of the most dangerous sport in the olympics, one man and a sled reaching up to 100 miles per hour speeds on a ice slope. Skelton is one of the fastest and most dangerous sports ever added to the olympics. People have died during the sport by crashing into walls head first or not slowing down after the finish. Contestants can also hit 5 g’s and blackout. Contenders ride on a small sled that weighs 90 pounds and if you aren’t careful you can end up badly injured, and all for a metal necklace. Even some of the most famous people crash and burn. It happens by not steering hard enough on tight turns and flipping. Having a sled with sharp skates on the bottom that is going 100 mile per hour out of control is not good. He was born on June 10th 1968. He was first in the olympics of 2002. There was no doubt he should of won because of his family history. His grandfather won 2 gold medals in speed skating. His father also won cross country skiing. The history of Skeleton is one of a unique way.
The History of the skeleton begined in a small village. The first run ever created was on Cresta hill and wasn’t nearly as long as the tracks now. The skeleton was added during the olympics at cresta but wasn’t added tell years later. If you ever go to Cresta you will be able to go on the first track ever but you have to join the club of the skeleton. To think it all started yet a long time ago it was one of the last ones to be added.
Even though it is one of the most dangerous sports ever added it is one who have caught the attention of many. And since it was added as later then most of the others it will hopefully keep grabbing attention. How it has hurt and killed some who try we give our prayers to the lossed. Jim Shea who has won 1 gold medal we will keep rooting for our US team to win another one or
