Denise nervously combs through her ponytail with her fingers looking for split ends in her dark waves. Their tense silence is interrupted by the arrival of their food. They both politely thank the waitress and dig in with gusto. Bryan begins to chow down on his burger with his mouth open obnoxiously just as Liz mentioned. Denise wrinkles her nose in disgust, but thinking of her parent’s love story she decides to make one last effort at seduction. She smiles slyly at him which Bryan doesn’t notice since he only has eyes for his cheeseburger. Denise sighs at the complete lack of attention her date is giving her and decides that desperate times call for desperate measures. Denise slyly runs her flat clad foot up Bryan’s leg teasingly causing him to jerk up and begin to choke on half chewed cheeseburger. Denise’s dark eyes widen in alarm. “Oh, my god.” She slips out of the booth quickly and is at Bryan’s side thumping him harshly on the back. Bryan gags and spits up half chewed cheeseburger back onto his plate. Denise looks in disgust at the mess on his plate and while he’s catching his breathe she asks, “are you gay?” “What?” Bryan

She manages to do so by drawing a stark contrast between Elizabeth and the other female characters, Charlotte, Jane and Caroline.
