Imagine a world where everyone perceives that one language is better than another, the society will lose its cultural variety and this situation encourages people to forget their roots and it’s estimated that up to 7,000 different languages are spoken around the world. 90% of these languages are used by less than 100,000 people (BBC). This also tells us that if we are saying that a language is better than another, the 6999 other languages will slowly die off as they lose their speakers as everyone strives to be better in that one language that is deemed to be much better compared to the rest. It is important to bear in mind that one of the things that makes human special is our culture. Many people's language is one of the most important of their culture. Quebecois leader, Pauline Marois plans to put an end to bilingualism and give more importance to French and people of Quebec should protect it.
