In Act One; Scene seven, Macbeth becomes distracted by becoming King. As Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plans to kill Duncan, Macbeth realizes that he is the King’s kinsman. His duties are to protect the king from any danger and harm. Macbeth seems as if he cares for the King, but is focused on trying to fulfill the prophecy so he can become King. Shakespeare writes, “that we but teach bloody instructions, which, being taught return to plague the inventor” ( Scene 7, lines 11-13 ). Macbeth realizes that the things he is doing will eventually come back on him. Also, Macbeth fears that once he is king, that someone else would want to do the same as he did to become king. In this scene Macbeth is highly praised by the three witches. The witches chanted Not only in scene 3, does the witches praise him, but in scene 5, Lady Macbeth does everything in her power to make sure he is King. Macbeth is a trusted person by everyone, even the King who he plans to
