Health professionals within the NHS work together as a multi-disciplinary and multi-professional team. Health professionals will include doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, radiographers, health-care assistants, etc. These health professionals all have different roles and are specialised in various things. This means they can work together when looking after a patient as the care of the patient may require different things from each health professional. For example, if someone is in hospital they will be looked after mainly by nurses but when they get discharged from hospital they may need help from physiotherapists or occupational health therapists who can help them get back to their normal living their routine.
