The 1950's was an important era for the United States, an era of economic growth for most of the people. This era is know for many different aspects and creations, time activities growth, modern jazz, credit card, fast food, the advent of television and movies,etc. The 1950's films were one of the biggest movements in that time, films created a positive effect in society, and was also a popular movement. However, how to know is this was a positive or negative if everyone has a different opinions on things and especially in films, where people like different things. The 1950's films were reflecting the generation of teenagers, new younger market of teenagers, the 50's decade also became known as the age of "Rock and Roll". During this time United States had a great advantages with films, since about of 10.5 million of Americans homes had a television, films and TV shows became more influential in society. "Television projected a vision of American life into the home that could easily be emulated, in part at least, in those places in society that already resembled the ideal…” (Gilbert 141). Television show families from the 1950s reflected idealized of gender roles. During 1950's gender roles were strict, men were the powerhead of homes. But against in the 1950's were a period of gender roles, TV shows were growing, and studios were forced to find creative ways to make money from television. Families were part of the TV shows and the films, they "family time" was sometimes siting at the living room watching TV shows together and going to the cinemas
