“The Robot Invasion” is written by Charlie Gillis. The main idea is to inform people of the change to come in a world pertaining to robots. The authors tone is formal, and educational. The author starts the story off with an ant scenario. Which led to the epiphany in the early 90’s of robots. Robots were originally thought of to do task us humans don’t care to do. Baxter can be reprogrammed by taking its arms and showing new task. The company of Baxter has already started shipping these out. Rodney Brooks is the founder of Baxter. “Baxter sensor array includes five cameras that allow it to see objects he’ll be handling, and stop when someone crosses his vision.” Baxter’s maker is making it almost irresistible to not buy this robot. Pricing Baxter at a low twenty-two thousand dollars. Brooks said he designed Baxter with cost in mind. This alone is a major reason to let people go. No adult could live off twenty-two thousand dollars a year. Buying a few Baxter’s alone would save companies a lot of money. Another robotic machine Brooks is known for is the Roomba. Which is a modern reminder of how a little robot can complete dreaded task. Thomas Frey another robot researcher says by 2030 two billion jobs would subside to robots. On the other hand; Frey says millions would be employed as engineers, dispatchers, and robot designers. This is mentioned as is this could compare to the billions that would lose their
