China proved this theory and beliefs. Communism was a theory first developed by Karl Marx, a German philosopher. (ONeil 2015) He aided in helping to get communism a start. Leaders such as Mao Zedong and Stalin were also very active people in the communist government and regime. People like these diminished many values people had so they had to conform and be equal with everyone. (ONeil 2015) Communism diminished people’s ability to be creative because they were only aloud the showcase what the government would allow and there was no room for their personal opinion or views. Another problem was Forced Collectivism, and example of this was Mao Zedong’s idea of making steel, he believed that it was very important that is what everyone needed to be doing and that it was important to the country of China. Along with those reasons in a communist country the everyday people have no rights. (Flamehorse 2014) This developed clear back when Marx was creating his communist model, he thought that all the land a property needed to be distributed for the national benefit, not the individuals benefit. Murdering was also very prevalent during communist rule. Stalin started this by purging criminals to intimidate to population of the Soviet Union. China gave it a whirl and in the end, did not work, they eventually had to transition to capitalism. This transition was the best thing for their economy and it even shows. They have become the second largest economy in the world following the United States. They have strengthened connections, trade, economy, and military to the extent that they will be a great threat to the United States in years to come; so much that the highest-ranking officer in the military is concerned. While China may have started from the bottom with hunger issues and many more they worked their way to the top.
