In a competitive world, success seems to be the only reason to exist. Society pushes people to act and look a particular way and, if not, they are an alien. Success is business suits, briefcases, the American dream. Many People fear failure because they do not want to feel humiliation, they want acceptance, and they want to leave a positive, yet memorable legacy.
Sweat, embarrassment, anxiety: Humiliation is the worst feeling anyone will experience. The world is no different from High school, a place where there is no room for uniqueness, it never changes. Humiliation is like walking in a hallway full of people pointing, staring, and laughing at your defeat. For instance, if you don’t fit in you are deemed an embarrassment, a failure. There are positive legacies and negative legacies. Enstine, Abe Lincoln, Mother Theresa, Hitler, and much more all left behind memories of their lives. Some good, others bad; regardless, they all left behind an idea that was important to them. Furthermore, when it comes to our lasting memories, what we hope to one day be remembered for, we wish for it to be benevolent and impacting. Contributing to society, volunteering, and making others remember you as an amiable person is considered a well-left legacy. Overall, the most valuable legacy that can be left by someone is a sense of fulfillment. As a child, everyone plans how they want their life to go. With huge aspirations and no sense of direction, they make big plans in hopes of one day completing them to be successful. To have accomplished your life goals and to have completed your personal plan is what success truly is. Feeling accomplished with your life, looking in the mirror and saying “I would not have done it any other way.” That is what I hope to be thinking at the end of my
