The Dieppe Raid was a raid the Allies put together on August 19, 1942. The raid lasted 9 hours. It took place on the French port of Dieppe and was code named “operation Jubilee”. In the beginning there were 4963 canadians and in those 9 hours the Allies lost 2853 of soldiers who either died or got captured. At 1 of the 5 beaches, Blue beach, there was 96% casualties and only 65 soldiers got back from that beach. It was a very dark day
