These are in fact composed of actions, habits, and personal beliefs. White supremacy can be classified as simply white racism. To sum it up, white supremacy is the belief that the white race is superior to any other race regardless of that individual 's wealth, health, etc. Similarly we could say that white supremacy is an organization of power. White supremacy and economic power were born together. Society tends to value most white people more than any other race, which exemplifies the term white privilege. According to Jennifer Holladay (2000)," white privilege shapes the world in which we live-the way that we navigate and interact with one another and with the world", which demonstrates that the source of power is not something that white people necessarily do or create but still exhibits. One form of the power of white supremacy is the power to oppress, control, demoralize, and destroy people of color. White supremacy leads to fear of people of color. Fear of slave revolts. Fear of loss of political power as in the time of Reconstruction. Fear of declining property values when neighborhoods change. Fear of losing social capital as in integrated education. Fear that whites will become a “minority” in the United States by the year 2050. The fears created by white supremacy lead to a desire for control. The control of the patrol and overseer, the control of the KKK and Knight Riders, the control of black institutions and ghettos, the control of prisons and loss of voting rights for people of color who have been in prison. Since slavery, the misconception of the dangerous black man has been used to implant the fear in whites and to account for their cruelty against black individuals and possibly other races. In conclusion, the thing that causes some white people to believe they are superior than other races, especially blacks, can be the fear that they no longer are superior which causes them to exert it
