The Pros And Cons Of Parking Law

Improved Essays
I humbly ask that you to excuse this parking ticket as it was never my intention to violate any parking laws. I received a ticket a few days before this one. When I did, I did not understand that all areas of the garage required a parking permit. I payed the fine the same day, and bought a parking pass the following day. The next time I parked I was late for class and parked in an area where I correctly read a sign that said “Parking Permit required”. I came back to my vehicle surprised to see a ticket under my windshield wiper. Upon closer inspection of the bottom half of the sign, I read “faculty permit required”. I was confused as there were also signs on this same row of the garage tha said “Student permit required”. I talked to an administrator

, Marilyn Vega, recently received a ticket from the city of Chicago for a red-light violation on December 11, 2016. Attached, I have submitted two forms of proof that the weather conditions on that day were less then favorable thus affecting the roads as well. The image taken by the red-light camera clearly displays the poor driving conditions experienced that day. As I attempted to stop prior to the intersection, my vehicle hit a patch of ice and proceeded into the intersection despite my best efforts to stop the vehicle. In the interest of both my personal safety and the safety of other drivers, it was out of necessity that I proceeded through the intersection cautiously.…

Free parking? It sounds like an idea too good to be true, and that’s because quite possibly, it is. At least that’s what Donald Shoup argues in “Yes, Parking Reform is Possible”. A public policy which allows an extensive amount of parking in a crowded city at little to no cost, regardless of budgets or consequences, will have serious negative effects to a community. Shoup predicts that we can achieve major social, economic, and environmental advantages at virtually no expense merely by subsidizing people and places, rather than parking.…

Speeding tickets are citations that are written and delivered by police officers in the event that a motor vehicle operator violates the traffic laws in a particular area. These items are the main topic in the satirical essay “An Unassertive Proposal”. The author provides much evidence to reveal this hidden subject. The first evidence that reveals that the essay is a bout speeding tickets is the references that are given to policemen. Flashing lights being seen in a person’s review mirror is an indication that he or she has been pulled over by the police.…

I am confident that this solution is feasible because Judges around the world are already aiming to treat instead of just punishing. DUI courts are being implemented and Judges are now trying to use their courtrooms to conduct substance abuse interventions with defendants who plead guilty to DUI. This includes sentencing rehab rather than jail times, then having probation officers check in on their progress every week. There are signs the DUI courts are working. Since he started one of the nation's first DWI courts in 1997, Judge Hoffman says his recidivism rates have fallen to 13.5% from about 45%.…

Ordinance 328 is a content-neutral constitutional time, place, and manner regulation because it does not target a specific group or subject matter and is substantially related to St. Leonard's actual interest in protecting the welfare of children. Ordinance 328 is content-neutral because it serves significant government interests of protecting the welfare of children and is justified without reference to the content of the regulated speech. Since the Ordinance is content-neutral it is subject to intermediate scrutiny, and the regulation must be reasonable in time, place, and manner. (CITE WARD).…

“Give me liberty or give me death.” Patrick Henry’s famous cry may not mean so much anymore. In the 1970’s, the United States Government made the decision that automakers will be required to install safety belt systems in their vehicles. By the late 1970’s, the government had adopted a concept of two different types of seat belt laws. The primary version of these new laws enforce the law more strictly, allowing a policeman to stop a citizen just for not wearing a seat belt.…

There is currently a great debate in our nation about the necessity of Voter ID laws and the impact they will have on our democracy. It is with clear distinction that the Voter ID laws recently passed in various states, noted by right wing support, are a clear infringement on the ideals of a collective and openly participatory democracy. Voter ID laws, which in their inception are supposedly to protect democratic thought, would be a noble effort if they were implemented without malicious intentions and voter fraud was actually a problem. These Voter ID laws, in fact, act to deter and discriminate against minorities and various groups. From 2000-2010 there were only 13 cases of voter fraud demonstrating that there is no reason to enact cumbersome…
