The Pros And Cons Of HVAC Systems

Many people think that conventional HVAC systems can filter out a chemical and biological threats if they are aerosolized. That is wrong, for a few reasons, a terrorists chemical or bio-weapon that becomes airborne is not suspect to being neutralized in a conventional HVAC system. If no chemical processes are used in the HVAC systems, such as deionization of UV light exposure to all particles passing through the systems, the weapon will still get some of the original concentration through the system and into the space that people occupy. People may also think that many, many cycles through an HVAC system will cause the weapon to be neutralized, but theoretically, hypothetically, the weapon will just have more chances of infecting other surfaces, equipment, tools, and other things that a person will be exposed to if used. The only effective way of preventing an attack is to immediately notice, block, prevent, or force it out of the space people do or will occupy.
