Arming teachers would prevent shooters from coming if they were looking for an easy target (Hagin, Para. 14). This intimidates the shooter because they know that they won't have an easy target at all and that they would most likely die. Matthew Santoni, a well known journalist states,“Gun-free zone to a maniac -- because they're all cowards -- a gun-free zone is 'let's go in and let's attack because bullets aren't coming back at us. If we did not arm teachers then the shooter would know that it is a gun free zone and come (“Arming Teacher Pros”, 18-19). Not arming teachers in this situation is an absolute disaster, thinking about it a shooter could come in as a free soul with no problem to kill anyone they see, but with teachers armed and trained then the teachers could easily rush to the situation and take care of it.…

Many are beginning to question the intentions of the police, wondering if they’ve taken an unnecessarily brutal and violent twist to their job description. Though many defend current police systems, there has been an obvious rise in on duty shootings ending in severe injury and death of civilians causing a need to mandate harsher consequences for on duty incidents and require body cameras at all times while on duty. Officer involved injuries and killings is an escalating issue all over the nation. Abe Markman…

Body worn cameras will increase public safety in many ways. One way that stands out is the fact that each officer will be aware they are wearing these cameras, therefore making them less likely to commit acts of police violence. They know each action they make is being constantly recorded and will be looked at and scrutinized if there is a claim of excessive police force. There have been multiple studies done by different universities in different parts of America showing the use of body cameras on police officers has significantly fewer complaints and less violence. One specifically being Wesley G. Jenning 's experiment “Evaluating the Impact of Police Officer Body-Worn Cameras (BWCs): The Orlando Police Department (OPD) Experience,” where…

A gun on school property can deter a shooter by letting them know they won’t be the only person with a gun and people at this school are trained on how to properly use them in stressful situations. Lifes will be definitely saved at the time even if one single person were to be armed. The connection between self defense and guns is a big topic and debate all around the States. Some might state that people don’t need guns for self defense because others don’t know what guns can cause and don’t take it seriously, however there hasn’t been a case in a long time where someone didn’t know what they were doing and misfired, there is a reason why there is an age limit for owning a carry arm.
