Abortion For many years the topic abortion has become very controversial. Whether it is supported by those who believe that women should have a choice to have an abortion if they wanted, because it is a constitutional right. While opposed by those who believe that having an abortion is immoral murder to an unborn baby. Abortion is defined as the termination of a pregnancy followed by the death of the embryo or fetus (Merriam-Webster). Abortion laws date back to the 1800’s and have continuously caused an uproar throughout our nation ever since. As of today, only certain laws are in place to prevent “back-alley butchers.” Pro-lifers, those who are opposed to abortion, are very familiar with the procedures and the risks of abortions while providing …show more content…

Also, research has linked the risks between abortion and future pregnancies by: Vaginal bleeding during early pregnancy, preterm birth, low birth weight, placenta problems, such as retained placenta, an incompetent cervix poses risks for future pregnancies — particularly during the second trimester — including: premature birth, pregnancy loss. In such cases, surgery might be needed to repair the damage before a woman can conceive another child, and a weakened or damaged cervix can lead to the potential for the cervix to open prematurely (incompetent cervix) in a subsequent pregnancy (this is more likely to affect women who have had multiple surgical abortions) (Ramah
