Define Androgogy and explain the principle of adult learning.
Androgogy
According to Malcom Sheperd Knowels (1913 – 1997), American Educator. Androgogy well known as the art and science of the adult learner. In Greek means, the man-leading. Which is an. dro.go.gy. Andr is man and agogy means leading. Andragogy should be equal to the term of pedagogy.
In 1980, Knowles made 4 assumptions about the characteristic of the Adult Learner or well known as Andragogy. And in 1984, he added another 1 assumption . So total of 5 exemptions.
Self –Concept
The personality of each individual will change once they have grown up. From the person who very independent to being self-directed human being.
Adult Learner experience
As a person matures, they growing experience are becoming more widely as our learning experience is gradually increasing.
Readiness to learn
When the person is willing to learn, he/she became more aware about his responsibilities and the task about his social role.

Physiological needs for life is food, water, rest, oxygen, balance temperature and maternal needs.
Safety
Safety needs is a need to be safe, free from anxiety and fear. The needs to be secure in the environment.
Belonging and Loves
The needs to be accepted and love of the social environment. Can build a good friendship and belong to others. The person has feeling towards others or different gender. This is called feminine nature. This needs also is the ability to give and received the love and affection towards others.
Self-esteem
This will encourage their self confident in their life. Because they feel important and gain respect. The acknowledgment in their work making good impact and might influence more, to achieve more success. Everyone needs self confidence and begin to direct our action towards what we want to be.
