Grande is known as the "New Mariah [Carey]" because of her voice and her looks. Some people (especially Mariah fans) do not like Ariana because she's "trying to be like Mariah." Some of Ariana's music videos resemble Mariah's older music videos and some of Ariana's songs sounds like Mariah Carey songs. Ariana did say that Mariah has been an influence on her.
