Standardized testing is a test that is given that is viewed as a standard matter of questions. In standardized test students are all graded to the same scale. Standardized test come in the form of an achievement test that measures subject specific knowledge and aptitude test that measure scholastic knowledge. Student low test scores can prevent a student from passing to the next grade, teacher dismissals, school closings, and affects federal funding. There is no law that restricts states from standardized testing on special education students. Equal across the board standardized testing is enforced through IDEA and No Child Left Behind Act.
