There are some types of bullying, but one of the most dangerous is verbal bullying.
Verbal bullying is a repeated behavior and include actions such as making threats, spreading rumors or attacking someone verbally just to gain the power over other peers. Words alone do have power. While the effects of physical bullying may be more obvious at first, verbal bullying is more insidious and over long periods of time works to destroy a child’s self image and self esteem. This can lead to depression, anxiety and other problems such as health issues. it also affects students academic performance and leads to suicide.

Bullied adolescents see school as a stressful place. By a study made by me in Albania in 2016 with a group of 16 students from 11-17 years old , from different ages and ethnicities and gender ,by using a question sheet , I come to the conclusion that they lost the desire to go to school after were bullied. They were not focused in the lesson classes and were afraid to answer any question they knew. Students also said that speaking in front of the classroom was one of the worst experiences. Some of them had attempted many times to leave the school. Another study made in Great Britain concludes that 11% of high and middle school children studied, repeated having impaired concentration and feeling nervous or panicked. Evidences suggest that children who are bullied skip school to avoid being bullied. People often say the phrase " Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me". Words not only destroy people mentally, but destroys lives and sometimes ends them. One recent study made in United States of America , looking at more than 130.000 middle and high school students showed a definite link between suicide attempts and bullying. The highest risk was for children who have been both bullies and bully victims (38 percent) ,with victims of bullying being the next highest risk category (29 percent).
