This article will focus on one of the positive uses of social media for a celebrity and industry. It revolves round well known artist Britney Spears and how she and her team of employees utilize social media in order to use it as a form of promotion and also to create and retain her brand image.
The article provides information regarding how social media has supported promotion for her various albums and the different social media used. This can be a vital example for providing evidence of how celebrities make use of social media from a business aspect.

Regardless, the information provided can be reliable as it aims to provide facts about the social media site Twitter rather than the journalist's opinion. In this article, it starts of by mentioning that social media site Twitter has been running for 5 years and continues on to identify and state the various changes it has brought as a medium of communication. A general overview regarding social media is looked at in this article. It mentions various opportunities brought forward by social media and how it is misunderstood and used inappropriately by businesses. This article goes on to define social media and diffrentiate it from other networking sites and proceeds to organise it under different categories. The authors then go on to provide tips as to how businesses will be able to utilise social media much more effectively.
While this article does not make clear relevant points towards celebrities, it provides insight for how businesses can utlise social media. This can still be applicable to the main question of my essay as various strategies mentioned can be used by firms such as record labels and individual celebrities when promoting
