The National Child Labour Committee was founded in 1904 and there aim and obligation was to document the working and living conditions of many children in the United States. Lewis Hine was all for social reform and was hired by the (NCLC) to try help make a gradual change to the child labour laws. Hine was an American photographer and used his camera as a way to document and investigate children working across the country. Over a decade and a half Hine shot and produced thousands of negatives, his images show evidence of children labouring in mills, coal mines, factories, sweatshops and various street trades such as newspaper deliveries.
