Over the course of time, ideas and thoughts of the formation moon had …show more content…
On an average of 238, 855 miles away, the moon is about 30 Earth-sized planets away! Also drifting away by an inch each year! To an extent of our knowledge, we as humans have been able to observe and collect much data of the moon in general. Especially ever since the invention of the telescope into landing the first spacecraft on the moon in 1959, the Luna 1. We’ve been able to inspect the moon’s surface, structure, and environment as well. From here on, the moon is the Earth's only natural satellite and isn’t considered a planet. On the moon, there are no existents of lifeforms. It is known that the atmosphere is too weak to hold in gases as such as oxygen, resolving in no possible lifeforms. With a close-up glance of the surface of the moon - there are many scattered circles, also known as the lunar maria, impact craters. The lunar maria, evidence of lava flow, takes up about 45% of the lunar surface; in addition, the moon’s surface is also composed of regolith. A layer of powdery soil with scattered rocks created by asteroid impacts. Evidence on the moon’s surface of extinct volcanoes, points to the fact that there were once active volcanoes that had once erupted on the moon when the moon had formed, before stopping 3.8 million years ago into an icy-cold planet without any existent …show more content…
Without the moon, there might’ve been an alternate future excluding our existence as humans. Even towards our daily lives without the moon, everyday might as well be considered very different. Although still in theory, many consider that without the moon there wouldn’t have been much of a difference in the beginning. But given the much thought - we humans could’ve might’ve never began to exist in the first place, although only according to certain possibility. In brief, to accordance to how the moon has differed our lives, Earth days are currently 24 hours without a doubt. Due to fact the moon got caught in the Earth’s orbit, Earth days would’ve originally then been from 8-10 hours; that’s when if the Earth’s rotation were to never slow down. Every night there wouldn’t be moonlight without the moon, and we wouldn’t possibly even see very clearly without any artificial light source. Eventually even just going to the beach or coast, the tides would have acted differently. Due to the moon’s gravitational pull, the Earth’s axis and tilt is stabilized to giving it - it’s predictable seasons and climate; also giving the ocean's tides their shift. Without the moon and its gravitational pull on the ocean’s tides, of course then that would’ve been quite unfortunate for the people who enjoy
