My Year of Meats has a particular way to display a genre in ways that other novels do not have with her unique way of presenting, Ruth Ozeki uses “meat” not just in the title but as a way that women (like Akiko) believe that they’re seen as which is cattle, I saw the metaphorical “equation” as body = meat and women = cattle. Ozeki also, most likely, did not put the clear use of cause and effect based on the fact that non-literal connections can be made about men towards women and cattle. Also, Ozeki had written this not only to read the fictional story of Akiko but to see a bigger picture of her culture and how people’s differences don't matter and to get past those differences of a person. The particular use of meat throughout the novel has…

Most scandals in industries are never brought to life. People are paid very well to keep things hushed up and out of the public eye. If we knew what really went down in most big companies, the loss of business would be deleterious to the profit margin, and that is the last thing CEOs want. However, once in a blue moon some brave soul steps in and sees the problem, and they know they have to tell the world what is going on. My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki demonstrates how the use of hormones in the meat industry affects the women and men who both consume the products as well as come into contact with them through other means.…

America has made a lot of changes in the past on becoming more inventive, resourceful, and as well as industrialized. Due to the variations in how our food industries operate, small family-owned farms have rapidly vanished leaving us with large, industrialized productions that mass produce for the benefit of the Large Corporations. Americans expect to be able to have large quantities of food available for purchase at anytime and at a low price. Unfortunately in order to get that food to us at low prices, we have to sacrifice aspects of animal rights, human rights, the environment, and health.…

The decline in the sales of beef products over the last six months could have several plausible explanations. The selected research suggestion is to construct a survey of area restaurants to see if the situation is pervasive. Personally, I do not like the idea of a survey of area restaurants in this situation for several reasons. This particular survey would not answer the ultimate question of why there is a decline in the sales of beef products nor would it suggest an alternative to fixing the problem. If the manager so badly wanted to construct a survey to solve this issue, he should suggest a survey of the restaurants’ customers.…

The overall message of the film was to show the impact food plays on our body and the benefits of changing one’s diet. While many people know that consuming vast amounts of sugar and fatty foods could cause diabetes or cardiac arrest, many do not know the risk that animal based products play on our health. By changing one’s diet to a plant based diet, one can decrease his likelihood to develop diseases and can prevent one from having to consume drugs or go through expensive…
