The Mayan Economy

Mayan economy was largely based on food & agriculture. Their most important crop they had was corn, which they make into tortillas. The Mayan grew a lot of vegetables that are bean, avocado, chile, teosinte, and maize. But, their central ingredients or vegetables were beans, squash, and maize. From raising crops, they raised animals too. Such as cows, pigs, goats etc.

The Mayans was located in the Yucatan, Guatemala the eastern part of Mesoamerica. They lived in the lowlands and the highlands. In the Lowlands, they lived in the tropical rain forest. The land was mostly used for growing crops. For the Highlands they were located in the south. Consisting of volcanic mountains for sources of metals and
