This historical case constitutes an important part of the tale of ‘The Sign of Four’ to Arthur Conan Doyle , these events used the dissatisfaction about the wages, lake of opportunities for advancement between the Bengal crowds , the attempts of missionaries to convert the Indians ,and in addition to the case of paper cartridges for the army issue rifles ,which were coated with animal fat , especially pork lard (forbidden to Muslims) or beef tallow(forbidden to Hindus ),the Indian soldiers would have to bite these paper cartridges to open it before loading their guns ,this was against their religious beliefs, the spread of this incident promote the Indian belief that the British are working as missionaries to convert the local population to Christianity, and that what cause culture clash from the point of view of Doyle in his tale{ Nicola j.Watson and Shafquat Towheed ‘Romantics and Victorians ‘ …show more content…

In conclusion it appears to us a clear divergence in opinions and views on the intellectual and cultural East-West conflict and how the ideological and cultural clashes had been utilized to convert historic event ,the Indian Mutiny ,and transmits it to the myth of the generations till the present days ,and its effect on the Victorians not only in India but also inside their own homes in Britain
