Michelangelo was these IB learner profiles because everything he did was thought off before done. Michelangelo had a very big influence on Art in the Renaissance. He did lots of very important jobs for very important people such as the Sistine Chapel for Pope Julius II. Michelangelo used an astonishing technique that goes by the name of fresco. This technique consists of mixing dry sand grains and lime plaster together, the fresco has to set for 2 years before putting it to the test. The Sistine chapel took 4 years to paint and for Michelangelo it was very hard work. It was so heard and painful that he almost went blind, Michelangelo suffered so much when making it that when he finished for the day he would guard it at night so no one could steel his ideas. He even wrote a poem on his misery and he also described the misery to his friend by saying “I’ve already grown a goiter from this torture” Michelangelo finally came to thought that he should’ve not quit his daily job to paint the chapel and regretted starting the job. Although Michelangelo was going through a tough time painting the ceiling of the chapel he still did a brilliant job and in the last judgement section he added something that’s quite interesting which is a self-portrait. Michelangelo was great man and it didn’t all end when he died because we still follow and feel his footsteps and some people could even relate to him because through his quotes, poems and works of art he has transmitted his feelings and emotions to us.
