My group decided to do professional headshots for our leveraging micro funds challenge. It was of low cost to us, only needing a camera and a computer, and an in demand service that students need and are aware of. We decided to take the headshots at one of the most aesthetically pleasing areas on campus, the E5 bridge. One of my group members was a talented photographer, so he took care of the photography. My other group member is good with marketing so he spread the work about our small event and he was also doing the behind the scenes filming for the video. I am pretty good with computers and attracting people so I was in charge of editing the photos and driving traffic to the event. Photoshop has been a hobby of mine since high school so I had lots of experience working with photos and making minor adjustments. I have also had a lot of sales jobs so I have become comfortable with approaching people consistently and driving them towards our event. We had a camera but it unfortunately got broken just before our event. One of my group member’s friends were kind enough to rent us his camera for the duration of the event. The largest problem occurred the day of the event when we realized that a UW group was hosting the same event, same time, same place and instead of charging $5 they were doing it for free. This was a large problem for us as they had a lot more reach so they would completely overshadow us. To avoid this problem, we decided to spread out our event over multiple days and change the price of our event. We decided to make the donation discretionary instead of the mandatory $5. This actually benefited us a lot, as it drove traffic to our event and we didn’t cap people’s generosity, which allowed us to get larger donations. Working through problems is a part of every group assignment, with this assignment, my group was to able to effectively work around every problem which was thrown our
