Leadership is more concerned with the people rather than management. The understanding of people is critical by expressing sympathy and emphatically listening to others. Leaders who learn to harness others are critical in logical decision-making. Respect is vital in every leadership style as it promotes understanding. There are different theories explaining the styles of leadership. The traits theory explains the distinguished personal characteristics of a leader such as honesty, self-confidence, appearance, and intelligence. Priestly is ruthless and merciless. The boss is cruel and harshly treats her workers. Miranda Priestly represents the influential and authoritative leadership style (AUS’s channel, 2012). She is the authority in the workplace and does not show any concern to the workers. Miranda Priestly’s autocratic nature is reflected by her total authority over the subjects. He monitors them always without giving them freedom (Carmeli, Atwater, & Levi, 2010).
The leadership style applied has the demerit of difficulties in balancing the morale of the team with authority (De Hoogh, Greer & Den Hartog, 2015). The leader must learn to respect the subordinates, be consistent and listen to others, even if they do not change their decision.
