"Transgender is an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth (Castro, 2013)." Many years ago the world struggle with the idea of publically accepting gay/lesbian couples in to society, but as the world change so did the meaning of identity. The transgender community is aiming to be accepted, respected and understood without the presence of prejudice, biased opinions and judgment.
