Loneliness is a feeling or state that all humans can relate to, this state of loneliness typically makes an individual feel as if they are unsocialized at the moment. The feeling of loneliness is not something only humans can relate to, the need for a companion or group is something most animals strive for. In the video “ The Innovation of Loneliness” the narrator explains how monkeys create their own groups in order to reach a certain level of comfort. The most common ailment in the world today is loneliness, this ailment is most commonly originated from social media. Social media serves as a way to continue to apply or reiterate ideas concerning a better life, but at the same time pressuring individuals to perform actions that are seen as popular. Social media also diminishes the idea of a true conversation as messages can be edited to make one seem a lot more educated or whatever manner a person is trying to speak in. The idea of sacrificing a conversation for this mere connection may seem absurd but this leads many people to loneliness as the number of friends one connects with is far different than the number of people one converses
