The Industries Experiment on the Planet
I spent time in several locations: a natural forest, a clear cut, and a plantation. Within these spaces, the five bodily senses; sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste, helped to identify how each location felt overall. With all the raw data collected, further analysis will take place using information obtained in class time. Furthermore, ideas will be applied to the three locations and a lengthy analysis of the course content will be applied to everyday problems concerning environmental issues that stem from greenhouse gas emissions caused by gigantic industries. The largest industries in the world are running a sadistic experiment on how much money can be drained at the planets expense.

In his talk, “What Comes After the Inconvenient Truth”, Gore lays out lasting issues for everyone. He begins by talking about the Perma ice loss - within the last 25 years the Perma ice, which is in fact supposed to be permanent, has diminished to about ¼ of its original size (Gore, 2009). Throughout the year, it is a normal occurrence for it to shrink and expand as the seasons change, but as of this year the levels are at an all time low. On top of this, Gore expresses that Greenland is being heated from the North, this is causing the rivers to expand (Gore, 2009), the volumes of said rivers to rise, and the flows increase. Gore continues to speak about CO2 emissions and how dramatic the numbers are - in the last five years, there has been an addition of 70 million tons of CO2 every 24 hours into the atmosphere.
