The Rh factor types were discovered in 1940 by alexander wiener and Karl Landsteiner . Rh blood group is the most complex genetic of all blood type system, because it hooks 45 different surface antigen on the surface of the red cells that are controlled by two closely linked genes on chromosome 1. The antiserum for blood sample was the outcome results of the research that was done on the rhesus monkeys which lead to the naming of the Rh system. (Oneil, 31-07-2015)
The RH factor works in a certain way, when the antiserum agglutinate your red cells you are Rh positive (Rh+) and when it does not , you are Rh negative (Rh-).Although its actual complexity, its trait can be inherited and can be predicted by a simple conceptual model. The Rh factor can lead to serious complications. Some of the known complication are blood transfusion which can lead to death if a mistake has happened. But the most likely to happen Rh factor complication is the one between the mother and her developing feta’s, it occurs when the fetus is Rh- and the mother is Rh+. (Oneil, 31-07-2015)

There are measures that are being taken to reduce these risks. These risks are minimize by using blood if only necessary , sometimes using a specific blood agent rather than the whole blood. The other measure that was taken was to remove all white blood cells from donated blood. The purpose of removing the white blood cells was that the leukodepletion reduces the ricks of certain infections, such as ricks of having fever because of white blood cells incompatibility.
